Cimbalas became popular in the UK in the early 80’s when an enterprising parent of the Devon Steiner School contacted a source in Poland. Now this was back in the time of the USSR still in control of Poland. Her task not an easy one as the USSR appeared to have little understanding of how commerce worked in the West (or perhaps more likely did not wish to encourage it). She nevertheless overcame these obstacles and the instruments and music sheets were marketed for many years under the name of Musicopia. She retired from business in the early 2000’s and Salago bought up the remaining stock and this wonderful selection of music sheets.
