Moccasins originated in Asia and Native America. With their loose easy fit for wearing around the house the lock-down brought them back into popularity. When almost 50 years ago, Salago first started down the road from the present premises, moccasins were one of our bestselling lines. A fortnightly trip had to make up to Brays of Glastonbury to collect another van load and keep up with the demand.

While the concept has been adapted to outdoor footwear, these we have from Eastern Counties intended mainly for inside use. Made with a tough hide outer and lined with sheepskin, 100% wool, or just an attractive fabric. They will generally outlast a more conventional sheepskin slipper and at around 50% of the price of a sheepskin slipper.
