Moorlands Dipped Candles are a British Company from Alston in Cumbria and have been hand dipping candles since 1981. There is an incredible array of some 30 colours, and in shape and size, you go from a small ‘tree’ candle of 10cm (4ins) to a long standard candle of 35cm (13.5ins). If you are looking for something on a bigger scale, then there is the giant stubby 20.5 x 6.4 cm (8 x 2.5ins) with a burn time of over 40 hours! It means there is something for everyone.
What is special about Moorlands candles is that unlike many others, these are 100% solid colour and not a cheaper white candle that has been just surface finished in colour.
Separate from the coloured are a choice of 100% Beeswax candles that complement the other range of Beeswax that Salago imports from Germany.
This family firm led by with enthusiasm by the founder Ted Thompson and while now in his 70’s, his strongly bonded team, will no doubt carry what Ted founded almost 40 years ago well into the future. Salago have been selling this merchandise to the consumer for over 30 years and never in all that time has been a dissatisfied customer!
Recently Moorlands have had the good fortune of supplying the candles which illuminate the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, and featured their candles for films such as Mr Turner and Mr Holmes, and TV productions of Jekyll and Hyde, Dickensian and Victoriana.
Salago have every confidence in offering this quality range that comes at very good prices.
