History

1805 pattern sword used by Lord Horatio Nelson and no doubt armed with it at his most famous battle, The Battle of Trafalgar during the Napoleonic Wars (1796–1815). After he was killed at the battle the sword was returned to England and now on display in the Nelson Museum, Great Yarmouth, England. This sword in constant use until it replaced in 1827 by a newer model.
