Stockmar watercolours are ideal for transparent painting and for wet on wet painting. The colours can be mixed to obtain the required shades. Stockmar paints are made from gum arabic and fine, light-resistant colour pigments.
For younger children, why not have a go at the technique of ‘wet on wet’. You merely have to dampen a good quality cartridge paper, and then as explained in the write up upon the colouring blocks, using just the three primary colours of yellow, red and blue, and with your brush just allow them to flow onto the wet sheet.
